Thanx Steve Re: motor

Steve, it will probably work if it's an AC-DC motor. I use a 1/10 HP Dayton AC-DC (CCW) motor that turns 8,000 RPM. I wired in a fan controller to slow down the speed, which combined with the foot pedal, works just fine. Good luck with the project. Stan Re: motor

BEWARE, slowing motors down electronicly ONLY , may burn the brushes.
Think about a pulley system, then an electronic control, the motor needs to spin fast enough so it will not over heat. Dave von Doehren PRRODS......If man built it , man can fix it.and if man built it man can break it ! Re: motor

Dave, the motor I use is connected to the "improved" Pac Bay chuck/headstock. The motor doesn't seem to overheat - so far. Btuches eventually wear-out and have to be replaced somewhere down the line. Everything seems to be working properly (fingers crossed). Stan Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
