I wanted to share my satisfaction regarding the Dan Craft Five Rivers 6 PC 7' 0/1Wt blank. I set out to build the highest quality, lightest overall weight, most compact pack rod. This blank lives up to its reputation and delivered. I utilized H&H single foot guides, REC Cork reelseat with sliding rings (purchased before I received my new lathe), and fabricated a custom cigar foregrip and mini fighting butt myself. I know, I know...A mini fighting butt on a 0/1Wt may seem silly, but it looked great. After casting it a few times and simulating playing a fish out, I have confidence it'll actually be used. Unfortunately, I don't have a quality macro on my digital camera, but pictures of the rod are listed in my gallery.
Needless to say, I was happy with the way the build turned out....but I am never completely satisfied until I see the expressions on the clients face. This small pack rod was delivered this afternoon. The client was more than happy with the final product. To be honest, he was borderline giddy. What was most gratifying was his comment, "This rod is lighter and feels better than my Orvis pack rod!" I thought to myself, "Can a rodbuider get a better compliment?" "I think not!" We got a chance to cast it in the yard and the client was all smiles and compliments. We easily got out 40 feet of line into a 10 mile/hour intermittent wind. If you're interested in building quality, lightweight, and compact rods on an affordable high-end blank, check out Dan Craft's. You won't be disappointed! Next on my list (whenever I get time) is to build one for myself! Domenic Federico Infinity Rod Creations Wickliffe, Ohio Defjam@core.com Re: Proof in the pudding
