I've been using a tubing cutter to cut woven graphite & carbon fiber tubing with great results, makes a nice straight cut. Dave von Doehren PRRODS......If man built it , man can fix it.and if man built it man can break it ! Re: Tip to cutting Graphite tube

Yes but it can also crush the blank and send tiny fractures and cracks lengthwise up along the blank. Not sure if a tubing cutter is really the ticket on a tube built from fiber prepeg.

I have found that an arrow cutting saw works best. This saw uses a grinder cutoff blade. The bed allows for easy adjustment for length and it cuts so fast and smoothly I didn't even realize I had cut the blank the first time I used it!

I also have diamond blades for various saws, 4"-------14" , just that I do alot of plumbing, so I gave the tube cutter a try. Dave von Doehren PRRODS......If man built it , man can fix it.and if man built it man can break it ! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
