A quick question on Epoxy / Rod Bond. How well does it work on Nickel Silver? I am considering making some butt plugs out of scrap Nickel Silver I have on hand but I have never bonded the stuff. Will Epoxy / Rod Bond work? Do I need to prep the Nickel Silver in any way?
As always, Thanks in advance Jim Re: Epoxy / Rod Bond

Rod bond is a good adhesive for nickle silver. I got the following advise from Ralph O'Quinn several years ago. Nickle Silver can be tricky to bond. He suggested scuffing the part with scotch bright and then using a VERY THIN coat of CA glue (super glue) as a primer. After the CA is dry bond with rod bond. Re: Epoxy / Rod Bond

I recently had to replace a nickle ferrule on a bamboo fly rod that had been attached with Rod Bond. There was no prep of any kind when the rod was built. I had to use a lot of heat and patience to get the damn thing off.

I do scuff the pieces to be bonded as a safety precaution. The rod bond works great. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
