I'am building a fly rod and I notice that my Aftco rod finish hardener change to a dark amber color , the finish is 10 months old. I was wondering if this is safe to use and will it clear? Thanks Mike Re: Aftco rod finish

Don't worry! This is common with all two part epoxy finishes to some degree. When applied the resulting thin layer will appear much clearer. Stan Grace Helena, MT "Our best is none too good" Re: Aftco rod finish

All but perhaps one or two will do this. As Stan says, it's normal and your mized and applied finish won't be that dark. You're looking through a great thickness when you peer through that bottle. Your finish coating will only be a tiny layer and will be much, much clearer. It may have a very slight amber cast, but unless you're using white thread, you're not likely to notice it.
