gimble butt

Can someone tell me the best way to install gimble butt cap on trolling or bottom rods. tape . fiberglass cloth . nylon twine . graphite cloth . have tryed all of the above. i use rod bond also . thank you for your help. Re: gimble butt

Michael,
I just use a thin strip of masking tape enough to keep the gimbal centered around the blank. I score the inside of the gimbal and tape and glue it up with Rod Bond. I've never had one loosen yet. Randy. Re: gimble butt

I don't install many gimbals,but when I do I turn the handle on a Grizz
ly hobby lathe. So while I have the handle on the lathe I turn the handle material down enough to take the gimbal. This way the gimbal becomes part of the handle. Be sure that your handle material is measured long enough to accept gimbal and not be too short. Wayne Sixmile Creek Custom Rods Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
