Berkley SS304 singlefoot guides - who carries them?

Saw the Berkley SS304 guides at Jann's Netcraft. However, those are double foot. Anyone carries the lighter SS304 in single foot?

And anyone tried these?

Thanks in advance,
Mo

Jann's has them both, They list single foot and double foot guides separately. When you navigate to Guides, select Single foot [www.jannsnetcraft.com]

Mo,

Jann's does indeed list them in their catalog and they are available for order on their website.

They are, however, out of them right now. I tried to order a bunch two days ago. They did have them on a 'special' (less that $2 for 5 of them) that ended on the 20th, so it's likely they sold a whole bunch. Too bad we missed it. Nice guides.

I'm told that my order is expected to be filled by the 14th.

Good folks to deal with, just call them if you have a question.

Good Luck!

Buddy

THANKS!

How much do they weigh relative to the SICs or the Alconites? Interested because they are supposed to be quite lightweight.

Thanks,
Mo

Mo

Height of these guides is similar Fuji's LV-series, not Y.
Weight of Berkley SS304 single foot guides:

#25 - 2.59g
#16 - 1.16g
#10 - 0.50g
#8 - 0.23g
#7 - 0.22g
tip-top #7 - 0.47g (very heavy)

For braded lines these guides is the worst choice.
Fuji Alconite is better.
I've repaired 3 Berkley/Fenwick spinning rods.

So are we seeing some excessive wear from braided line on the SS304's? I bought some for a few projects but will just use them for ice rods and monofiliment rods if they aren't up to use with braids like fireline... Chuck Ungs

Alexander,

THANKS for your comments. Wow, these do not work well with braided lines then? Firely is the ONLY line we use now in our day to day fishing. Surprised as Berkley also manufacture many types of braided line including the Fireline. Mind sharing what kind of damage the braided line caused? Would it be grooves?

I'm a bit surprised as some high end rod maker (i.e. Airrus) announced that they would use it for rods approaching $200. If they don't stand up to braided, that would result in a lot of repair claims.

Thanks,
Mo

I know about Pure Fishing (Berkley, Stren etc.)braided lines.
I used FireLine, Stren Super Brade, Power Pro etc.

After 1 year of angling, guides inserts on Fenwick/Berkley spinning rods have a grooves, especially tip-top.
Berkley SES-100L, Fenwick BNHS96MH-2, Fenwick BNHS96L-2.
These grooves is catastrophical for braded lines.
Chipest guides, what do you want?
Hard chromium inserts, I think.
