Hi,
I got my first jars of Rod Bond and now I would like to glue my first cork grip with it.
I've searched the board but there's still a question. I've read to put the Rod Bond on both sides of the cork and than remove all the Rod Bond before putting the rings together. As I want to glue longer spey rod handles out of small 1/4'' cork rings the glueing process will last a little longer time. Is there any need to work fast?
How long can I put ring over ring before putting pressure on it? 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 40 minutes ... how long?
How long should I hold the cork under pressure?

Read the directions on the rod bond jars. Then check the FAQ and Library sections and try a search all dates and authors until
someone gets back to you here. I havent used Rod Bond myself yet.

Rod Bond has a long 'pot life'. If you can do your work in an hour, you shouldn't have any problems (it actually lasts quite a bit longer than that). Rod Bond is so forgiving in your mixing why not take a small amount and mix it as a test. Leave it in your work area and check it for the next couple of hours. That way you can judge for yourself how long you have to work.

I'd say you'll have an hour easy to work with it. I let it sit 'locked up' over night before lathing to shape. I use a single edged razor blade to apply and then scrape off. It works really well as a spatula. Just don't cut yer finger off! LOL!

I put it on only one side of my rings. No need for both. I bring the next ring down press together and turn to get on both sides. Put them on a 5/8's threaded rod with washers and wing nuts. Screw together over night.
