Invasion of the Flock

I think that Tom Kirkman may be behind a insideous scheme to pay the rodbuilding community back for the inconveinence of his back issue Rodmaker Magazine storage problem.

I watched him do the flocking demo in Charlotte last year with the canister and the tiny little 3 oz bags of nylon flock. I figured out that his demo was just a "come on" by using the small bags. I figured that I would be smart by ordering the larger bags of flock fiber. At the time, I thought I had really saved a fortune by purchasing the nylon fiber in bulk!

I have now been flocking for almost a year and have done a large number of rod grips. I have almost four times the number of full bags of flock than I started with. It is growing! I have talked with Ralph O'Quinn and he has experienced the same thing. Each time I do a batch of grips the stuff has babies! I really think the stuff is really an alien life form.

This morning I did 10 split grips. When I got through I took a handful of the Wine Colored Donjer Flock and threw it in my cash drawer to see if the stuff could teach the few George Washingtons present how to multiply.

Now THAT's an experiment I want to hear the results of! If you have any success I'll try to exchange DNA with some Lincolns and Jeffersons
