I was about to pull out my hair but its gray and I feel sorry for it ! I have never ran into this problem before. I had a bunch of fish eyes on just one side of the rod that I was building. I couldn't figure out why , so just added one more lite coat of finish, the same thing only a little bigger this time ! I studied everything I've done again, Couldn't figure it out. To make a long story ( of about 2-days of brain strain) short , I asked my wife ! She came out to the shop and in just a short while told me what it was . Oil ! She seen it on the table, on the rod, cork & some spools of thread. I knew then what had happened! My neighbor came over while I was out and borrowed my chain saw from her . Well he started it in my shop and the bar lube that oils the chain had slung oil all over the place contaminating not only the rod but the whole work area! Now comes the hard part the clean up! I am going to put up a sign, as I share some space and move some things to the other shed. I hope this will help others that might over look things or think that it won't happen it can and did to me . THIS OLD DOG LEARNED A NEW TRICK !!! I think that I'll take her fishing in the morning and then out to eat.
P.S. Wish that all of you could that are cold and bored waiting on the next issue could come down to Fla. and join us . Happy New Year Bill Re: Found The Gremlins !!!

yeah and "self inflicted" sewing machine oil in an aerosol can can be just as bad .... a result of cleaning up/luricating the wrapper .... luckily there wasn't a rod on the wrapper - but overspray "killed" a spool of nice holographic metallic 'thread' Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
