Hi Rob,
Pack the thread as tight as you can get it, and then burnish it to help hide the tails. Then practice some more if you're like me when I started. But mostly, have fun while you're doing it. Fred Crum Dixon, Ca. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/26/2005 07:58PM by Fred Crum. Re: practicing my wraps

The thing that helped me the most: magnification! Re: practicing my wraps

Steven is right on. Bare eyeballs don't see the errors. You'll likely need a magnifier of some sort; the headband style is really easy to work with. Jann's (sponsor to the left) has a really nice one that doesn't cost and arm and a leg. Putter Williston, ND Re: practicing my wraps

Rob, practice, practice, practice. All of the coments above are correct. I just picked up on a "Opti-Visor" about two months ago. That was the best thing I purchased tool wise. Now wraps are easy cause I can see now. Re: practicing my wraps

Ditto on the "Opti-Visor". A requirement for my 68 old eyes. I'm thinking about getting another one for use in the garage where the Jet lathe resides. The garage lighiting gets a little dimmer every year - used to think it was a problem with the electrical power supplier. Stan Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
