Magnet Powered rod dryer?

has anyone ever heard of or made a magnet powered rod dryer? By using the natural force to spin the rod chuck? Just curious. Though it may be a cool idea. Re: Magnet Powered rod dryer?

Sounds like a good idea but once the opposing forces swap the rig would then stop. Without the necessary change in poles I have no idea how you'd keep the effect going.

It does not work. If simple magnets themselves could be harnessed to spin a shaft, there would be no nuclear or gas power plants. It can work with electromagnetism, with the field attracting to pull, then shutting off and another used to push. You would need an external ring of electromagnets, timed by phase, and an armature on the shaft to be effected upon. Sortof like an electric motor. Rock on, Though! Levi Re: Magnet Powered rod dryer?
