Let's talk about titanium guides...

I've recently finsihed a 7' spinning rod (Lamiglas 841L) on which I used the TITAN guides from American Tackle. Nice guides and lighter than the Fuji alconites that I have been using. I'm curious as to how these compare to Fuji's titanium guides?? I'm asking b/c I'm going to start building a Lami GSH90-1MT which ia a very light blank at 2 7/8oz, fast action to throw soft plastics and small swimming plugs. I'd like to build the rod as light as possble. Going to match it with a TiCA Libra 3000 and 12# Power Pro.

Thanks!

I can only give comparible weights on the Fuji Concept guides.

Titainium frame SIC - 30-16-10-8L-7-7-6-6-6- #6 tiptop = 107.5 grains
Black Frame Alconite - 30-16-10-8L-7-7-6-6-6-#6 tiptop = 158 grains = about 47% heavier

Titainium frame SIC 30mm - 62.8 grains
Black frame Alconite 30mm - 94 grains = closer to 50%
Chrome frame Alconite 30mm - 92.7 grains

Black paint must be heavier than chrome.

If weight is the biggest concerning factor think about the REC Recoil titanium wire type guides.

If you really take a close look at the frames and how the ring is attached, you will see that the fuji is much higher quality. You get what you pay for.

Yeah, but Darrin Heim will go out and pick stuff up and put a digital caliper to parts, and e-mail you back the results, and give you information you have to have to build a rod, and fit it to a reel. Pay fuji for that. Levi
