I have built 2 8 wts and have been placing the guides on the opposite side of the spine (the softer side.) This works well. I can cast heavy lead core lines, shootingheads, and big 3/0 flies with no problems. Keith Re: SaltWater Blanks (FLYRODS)& SPINE
