Is there any reason why I can’t run the cork tape up under the reel seat by a ¼†or so and utilize the tape as part of the fore and aft spacers for my reel seat? The cork tape is exactly the right thickness and I figure with an additional build up of a conventional material in the center of the grip would make a pretty sound installation, I think Re: installing a cork tape handle

Sounds good to me. Only thing will be visual. The seat will be on top of the tape and won't have a nice transition down to it. So you could make thread wraps at each end of the seat on top of the tape to create a nicer transition. Re: installing a cork tape handle

Shrink Wrap at the both of the seat make a tidy and protective edging; with or without thread. Re: installing a cork tape handle

At both ends of the reel seat...oops! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
