Made the 110 mile trip up to visit Mike joyce this sat. and had a building mini get-together , just in time for me to start MY winter projects . This was just the kick I needed to get going , seeing some of his work , he's quite the builder/ thread artist . Did a bit of bartering , and when I got home , I started a couple of boat rods for me and a friend that night . Mikes thread art is somthing to see in person! Thanks Mike . John

No...thank YOU John. I had a great time talking "shop" with you, and sharing info. (forgot to pay you for the black iced coffee...thanks) You're fly rods are aweome...high praise on that 1wt flicker!!

Just us getting together also motivated me. Even with this post Christmas party "fat head", this morning I finished the rose wrap you saw, and put togther the handle on my father in laws 9wt...the reel seats going to be really cool.

Plan on coming up for a visit when the Global SW Rod makes it here so you can add some inlays to it.

Thanks again

Mike

John - good stuff, now get going. I wish we all lived a little closer - 2 or 3 meetings a year aren't enough.

I hope Mike took care of you on those 2 blanks you were looking for.

He got me going with a blank to make a boat rod for my son that he can't destroy . As far as the heavy spinners go , I'll get together with one of you guys to get a couple . For the tube and wormers , I have a couple of glass blanks that will do the trick . I can't believe you never heard of a tube and worm ?????
