Hi Robert,
Glad to hear you were so pleased with the finish. The more you guys use it, I think that you will find that it really does have just about the perfect combination of all desirable qualities. Granted there are some decent finishes on the market, but for every good attribute they have, everyone of them has at least one bad attribute as well.
So far I and the builders that have used ThreadMaster can't find one bad thing to say about it.

Regards,

Andy

Pot Life is 30+ minutes....or as I told my friends - more than long enough.

Sounds like what I might be looking for as well.

I really like Glass Coat, but I am a slow finisher and the pot life is too short for me.I usually have to mix up several batches to avoid problems, which I don't like having to do(it looks great when on though).

I also really like LS Supreme(light) for the long pot life.Time wise,it's just right for me,but I would like a finish I can hit with heat(like Glass Coat).

If I could find a one coat finish that has the pot life of LS,while being able to hit it with heat to help remove bubbles,I would be in heaven.

Tony,
If your looking for a finish that has an extremely long pot life and handles heat well then consider Aftcote. I use to use LS Supreme but like Aftcote better. BUT, I just used Andy's mix and have to say I am very impressed. It does exactly what everyone else here says it does. I made the mistake of slighty overheating the small resin bottle in the microwave but thought I give the finish a try anyways. Mixed, applied and cured without a glitch. Crystal clear, smooth, hard and bubble free. The best finish I've used to date. Guessing I'm switching again...

TONY,
FYI, if you look on my website on the ThreadMaster page, I won't tell you which, but one of those finishes that's terribly yellow is the finish you like. And it turned that way after only a few short days in the sun, in fact it turned yellow the quickest.

For me Glass Coat is the easiest finish to use (its siimlar to Flex Coat fom what I've been told). I loved Glass Coat, until I saw a few of the rods I built for other people that used them in the sun - everything was brown within a couple of trips, worse than Flex Coat. I apologized to my friends for telling them to use GC, and have since done test sticks which I stick out in teh sun during the summer. Fortunately, Andy has one which he did down in Texas which saved me waiting 8 months fo the sun to come out in NY again - safe to say his stuff will look teh way it does the day you finish a rod, ffor years to come.
