I didn't see this chuck last week on their website. [www.pennstateind.com] Looks like a very versatile chuck. Has anyone had any experience with it? I was gonna get the three jaw self centering chuck but this one looks like it might be a better chuck.
Thanks, Steve Re: Another PSI chuck question

Steve,
The link hasn't been working but it is now. That looks good but you want to check what the minimum diameter that it can grip to be sure that you can use it with mandrels. I have the PSI 3 jaw and the 4 jaw utility chuck, which looks to be just like that one except that it didn't come with the straight jaw set. Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Re: Another PSI chuck question

I received an e-mail flyer that included that chuck. as a "Stocking Stuffer" item .
It looks fairly functional to me for the price and the flyer price was good -$59.95 vs. $79.95 catalog price. One set of jaws appear to close down to grasp 3/8" diameter. Same jaws open to 1 3/8" , unless I misintrepreted the info. You might want to phone them for clarification and to see if you can get the flyer price of $59.95 , if you decide it's worth trying out. If I didn't have three chucks already, I'd be tempted to try it out. Stan Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/27/2005 09:53PM by Stan Gregory. Re: Another PSI chuck question

Steve I would be interested in how this chuck goes if you decide to get it. Problem is I don't think the stocking is big enough to take the lathe to go with it.
