Easy way to put a label on fly rod & rod case

I am seeking advice on the easiest way to put the rod information on the blank. For example: 9' 7wt 5pc built by: XXX

Also what is the easiest way to afix the same information onto an aluminum tube.

I am building a few rods as Xmas presents and would like to afix the info on the rod and the case and I have't done this before and am looking for a simple solution.

Bailey,

One thing I did on a flyrod was to take the button that fits into the butt of the reel seat to a local jewerly store (before gluing it in) and having them engrave it with the rod length and weight. Obviously not enough room for info on maker and date but it was my rod so I didn't need that on it anyway.

On a spinning rod I made last year I found an old cuff link and cut the tab off that goes into the shirt cuff and then had the rod specs engraved on it before epoxing it to the butt of the rod.

For rod decals I would use Decal Connection. For vinal decals to go on your rod tubes Decal Connection (or their sister company) can do it for you but I believe they have minimum charges which could get expensive for 1 or 2 rods. What I did was to have my Rod Tubes (fly rods) made by REC and then have them or a local jewlery shop engrave the end caps
