Adding guides

Wheb adding guides, how do you know what sizes to use. Let's say you have 4 small guides from the tip. Now I want to add one. Do you add another small one or the next size up? Thanks for ant help. Did a search and could not quite find it. Re: Adding guides

Generally add another one of the same size after working out new spacings. Measure ceramic OD to find matching size. Re: Adding guides

My rule of thumb FOR EVERY FOOT OF OF ROD (BAIT CASTER) HAVE A GUIDE , pluse 2 Example a 8 foot rod should have 10 guides. 6#8, 3#10 and 1#12. This is just an example not in stone. Remember to get the correct number of guides and correct ring size do a stress test
