Was going to order the PSI Barracuda chuck for a new lathe I got today but they told me it wouldn't be available for about another month. I can't wait that long!! I'm excited and want to start work now!!

Can anyone recommend another place that sells a comparable self centering chuck? I'd like to stay in the $100 range if at all possible.

PSI did have others that they were selling at a discount. One other place would be Woodcraft. They have a Nova chuck that is on sale for $99.99 right now online.

I just received this one from PSI today for $44.95 ($51.90 after shipping) as I wanted a backup. I'm not recommending or even suggesting it to you, just putting it out there in case you didnt see it on their site.

Now I think I didn't order the right jaws. What do I need to chuck mandrels. Spigot jaws??

A 3 jaw self-centering mini chuck sold by Penn State works well on mandrels.
