After carefully polishing out some coroded spots on the leading edge of a spinning reel spool I want to coat it with the hardest finish I can find. Since the line will be rubbing over the edge of the spool on each cast, what is the strongest coating to prevent the line from wearing it away. Re: epoxy hardness- off topic

Don't know if it will stay on but permagloss comes to mind " the little I have left "
I usually just wet sand with about 1000 grit sandpaper. Re: epoxy hardness- off topic

Permagloss, but it's thin so it might be tough to apply it there.

I have reshaped a spool edge buy putting it on a piece of scrap blank, then on a drill.
I would take the locking spring out, then there is a streight hole Thin piece of scrap blank worked well. Can even be put on a turner for coating. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
