Hey guys, hows it going?
I was thinking about building a surf rod somewhere between a 9'6" to a 10'6" maybe a 11' for striper out here on the OBX. I wanted to know if any of you guys have any experience with the FUJI LC surf guides, how they perform vs. regular guides and how to figure out the spacing. Thanks for all of the help. I did some similar research recently and found that the LC guides are designed for "rods of considerable length", specifically, rods 11 feet and longer. The problem is that the largest stripping guide is a #20 so it has to be placed nearly four feet from the reel seet to follow the New guide concept intersect point. It wouldn't be effective to have guides on only the top 50% of the rod. Do a search on this site and you will find some info. One gentleman who posts as "Dorge" had extensive experience with these guides. You might want to look him up under "search". Also, look into the MN series as an alternative for New Concept surf guides. Look at my recent posts from earlier this week with the subject "surf rod" and a post from last week "New Arra 1204 surf". There is some discussion about the MN series, which I decided to use.
Good luck! Scott Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
