Got a request for a 10' rod.
From the first conversation, he wants a 10 ft, 3-4 piece, fly rod. Two handed For steelhead, salmon. Using a Hardy " freespool " reel. He will use mono line and cast it as a spinning rod. Casting 1/4 OZ lures. First thing I looked at was St Croix. Was wondering what Line weight and Action might be good for this. I have played with a St Croix 7 WT SCIV with single foot wire guides, cast great Not sure of the Line weight yet ? Suggestions Thanks Re: Fly rod using mono

Sounds like he wants a centerpin rod. Should be some info in the archives. Re: Fly rod using mono

Yes ceramics. Also was thinking of trying to keep it as a fly so it is covered under the warrantee. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
