Tom, after I left your shop today I went home and looked at my acid wrapped rods and noticed that the line does not touch the bottom of the second eye (first from the stripper, not the bumper). Should this line be lying in the bottom of the eye. Mine falls against the side of the eye.
Thanks for your help!! "The early bird gets the worm,.. but the second mouse gets the cheese!" Re: Is this right?

Michael,
What about when the rod is loaded? Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Re: Is this right?

In the unloaded state, the line will tend to touch the outside edge of the ring on the same side as the bumper guide. When loaded, it will tend to move to the bottom of the ring, or very nearly so. I think you've got it right.

Thanks Tom,
On my rod (a jig stick) the line runs through the bumper and rests on the upper center of the ring (closest to the blank) until the rod is loaded then is is against the bottom of the ring. I assumed this is correct but wasn't sure. Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Re: Is this right?

I checked it loaded and that is when it falls on the side not in the bottom. "The early bird gets the worm,.. but the second mouse gets the cheese!" Re: Is this right?

I would move it so " under pressure " the line is in the center bottom of the guide. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
