Can you guys tell me how eva inlays are done? I would like to add a little color to a couple rods.
Thanks for your help!! "The early bird gets the worm,.. but the second mouse gets the cheese!" Re: EVA Inlays

Slice, contact cement, glue, sand.
There's a detailed how to in a Rodmaker Magizine issue from late last year, I think, plus it's outlined in detail in Advanced Custom Rodbuilding by DAle Clemens, plus I think there are instructions on someone's website, plus there's posts in the archives here. Re: EVA Inlays

You're asking for information which is a bit involved for simple message board instructions. In a nutshell it is just as Billy says - you cut or slice the grip and inlay pieces and join them with contact cement and then turn/shape on your lathe. For inlaid mosaics or sillouettes, you just carve out the sillouette on the grip and fill it in with a matching sillouette from the intended colored material/s.
The Volume 7 #3 issue of RodMaker has the specifics and step by step photos to show you the entire process. Another article on more advanced inlay techniques will be forthcoming in a near future issue. .................... Re: EVA Inlays

If you come by today I'll show you how to do it. Will only take a few minutes. I also have various examples here.
