It appears Doc Ski has been showing more and more of his work recently on this board. I have seen a lot of his wraps on this web site, in person and his videos, and they are ALL superb. I find it great that he takes the time to comment on other peoples work as well. A compliment from Doc on your work has to be a testomonial to your hard work and talents. Thank you ALL for making this site great and helping each other.

Tom thank YOU for the compliment. I think you will find there are MANY tallented people who hang out here and many for no other purpose than to help other progress in this fun and rewarding craft. As far as commenting on others work I think WE ALL should take the time to comment on each others work. Though the work itself should bring its own satisfaction - comments from peers and others is priceless. I am often amazed at the amount of talent on display on this site and that is not limited to thread work but also the handles, lathe work, guides and every some of the unique tools that the guys come up with. I think you will learn much here from the wide variety of ideas that are posted.

Doc who? everyone knows the answer to that and if they don't they should. Doc is a guy who's talent and friendship exceeds him more so than he realizes. As people move away from traditional fish style weaves, he develops more complexed weaves to draw fellow rodbuilders to take up the challenge so this fine art is not lost. Great friend, great teacher, just wish I could meet him personally to thank him. Grasshopper

I too have been one of the fortunate to be able to sit and talk with Doc and see alot of his work when he comes here to San Diego to the various shows we have here. Not once did he ever make me feel like I was taking up his time, in fact he always wanted me to hang around longer to teach me more. I`ve never run across a guy like that. If you have listened and watched the end of his video,what he says and the way he says it tells you exactly what kind of heart he has for others in this craft /hobby /buisness /addiction, I hope you all get the opportunity I have been lucky enough to get. Thank you very much Doc.

I was working on a weave and was getting really frustruated. So I ended up calling Doc on the phone and had a great conversation with him. A great guy and very generous. His suggestions worked and I got the weaves done and the rod delivered! (I scored some big points with the Father-In-Law with that one :) ) Thanks Doc!

I recently bought the Wonder Weaver and tried my hand at a multicolored weave today. During the weave I mentally rehearsed some tips from Doc Ski's video such as: If the thread you are working on is above center pull down to tighten the weave and if below center, pull up on the thread. Everything looked fine until the end; I found that I had forgotten to take some of the threads out of the pattern. Actually the pattern came out better than I thought it would but since I have nothing but time, I will make some modifications on the pattern and start over. Even with the WW, I still like to use some of Doc's methods in weaving. I have learned to weave without a left list so there is still hope.
