Since you didn't specify an application, lure weight, deepwater or shallow, light carolina rig or dragging, a good universal blank would be the St Croix 3C68MXF has a very light tip. Skipping boat docks, light line 3S63MXF works well. Lots of others I'm sure. Re: tube jig spinning

For open water tube fishing I have built numerous rods for fellow fishermen with very good results either
4S70MLF or 3S70MLF St Croix. For skipping and tight quarters fishing Spencers 3S63MXF is a good choice. If you want a little more power try using the 3C66MF and build it spinning.(I cut 3" off the butt). If your more budget conscious Shikari has a great blank for skipping. I believe its SJ 593. I agree with Spencer, the 3C68MXF is a super blank. The tip is very fast and the rest of the blank is very tough. It is my best all around rod for fresh and light saltwater use. The first fish I caught on mine was a two pound flounder on a small curly tailed grub. Since then I have caught redfish up to five pounds on top water baits. That blank runs the gamut with any bait 1/4 to 3/4 ounces. I have mine tied up for casting. I bought the blank after consulting with Richard of Richard's Rod and Reel. Best purchase I ever made. The Rainshadow ISB822.5 and SB822.5 are also very close to the 68MXF in feel and action, it's their dropshot blank. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
