Hello everyone,
I have a St. Croix 3S96MLF2 Steelhead blank, I bought this recently to build a rod for Zander and Carp fishing (floatfishing for bigger fish, quite popular here in Holland). I like the blank very much but wonder if it is also possible to built a good flyrod of it. Has anyone ever done this, what would the action and the lineweight be? I have no idea. Thanks, Joost. Using 16 as the denominator of a fraction the high end weight would make it about a 10 WT.
If you have any lines try about a 7 on up and see how it performs. You should use the CCS system and measure the blank to get a true line weight reading for it. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
