2006 Rod Builders Show

I want to go to this years so bad, that I have threatend to sell my boat to get there.
However the only problem is that I can't put in my vacation time until Dec.Then it goes to corp.for them to take for ever to approve it.
Don,t want to make motel reservatoins and air flights just in case it's not approved.Hasn't happend before, but always the first time.
So if I find out it's a go,I would be driving. My wifes Aunt lives about an hour out from Charlotte. So my question is what kind of parking do they have at and around the covention center??????
I don't want to have to drive the hour to get there and have to drive around two hours finding a parking place.
I think Tom K. had said there was a mall close by? If so maybe I could have my wife bring her Aunt along , and they could just drop me off .That way everbody is happy and we all can shop until we drop.
<<<<<<<<What a plan>>>>>>>>

THanks for all replies in advance<<<DON AT HOBBY RODS>>>

There is a ton of parking in downtown Charlotte. On weekends, when the show is in progress, you can nearly always get a parking spot fairly easy. It is metered parking so bring a handful of quarters.

There are also many parking lots around the Convention Center. They'll cost you anywhere from $5 to $15 for a full day's parking.

You won't have any trouble finding a parking spot within a couple blocks or so of the event.

I just walked over from the hotel but I know I saw plenty of on the street parking early on Saturday morning. Several big parking decks within a few blocks too. Parking isn't going to be a problem unless you're driving a semi.

Don,

I am about two hours west of Charlotte. Last year there was a parking lot for $5.00 all day right across from the Conviention Center. I parked there Sat. morning and then pulled into the Westin to spend Sat. night there. Parking did not appear to be a problem. I plan to do the same in 2006. It continues to appear bigger than last year.

Don,

Don't worry about parking - there's plenty available. As mentioned above, there's a large lot across the street from the Convention Center as well as several lots and parking garages within easy walking distance.

This will be my 3rd time to enjoy the Charlotte Show. All have been simply outstanding, and they gets better each year! ! Hope you can make it.

Stan
