hello all.......
I am building a bass rod with the local university colors. I want to add a college logo to the rod. Decals in the size I need are unavailable. I have found some vinyl stickers at the local university bookstore. They call them "stickettes" decals. I have also purchased some of the fingernail decals for the same purpose. I have read the archives concerning using this kind of thing....but I just want to put it out here again to get your reactions. I am concerned about the edges curling and color fastness. What I thought I would do is, put a light coat of FC lite in the decal area, let it cure, then apply the decal / stickette or the fingernail decal. Then apply another light coat of FC lite. Will this work....??? thanks.......appreciate your responses. pb Re: decal questions

Biggest problem with the vinyl stickers is their thickness. It may be very difficult to get enough finish depth to completely cover the sticker. The fingernail decals might be better suited to this kind of thing.
Best bet is to take a few and get yourself a short section of scrap rod blank and start the experimentation process. LS Supreme High-Build is the highest build epoxy on the market. If you need quick depth, this might be worth looking into. ........... Re: decal questions

You may also want to put a couple of layers of CP over the sticker. Helps keep the slow curing finish from working under the sticker, and messing with the adhesive. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
