Several more manufacturers and vendors have signed on (have actually sent payment) for booth space at the National Rod Builders Show in Charlotte next February. They include: Lamiglas, Lamar, Mickel's Custom Rods, Swifty/Diamondite, Trondak U-40, Pacific Bay and Donart. Added to those already committed, this puts our number of vendors at 22 even 4 and half months away from the show. The number of booths sold now number 36.
Show contracts for the Rod Builder Tables are ready to mail. We have a few tables left for those rod builders who do not want to go to the expense of a full booth, but can see the benefit of showing their wares to the generaly interest fishermen that will be at the show. Tables are $300. They are 8' long and the space is 4' deep. You may not keep anything on the wall behind or under the table, but you may use the table as you wish, for rods, business cards, etc. I think those who actually set up a wrapper, jig or lathe and operate an interactive display will benefit the most. Contact me if you'd like a contract for one of the tables. Our direct mail campaign this year will encompass a combined list of about 70,000 individuals. About half are bonafide rod builders, the other half are general interest fishermen. I will post a photo of the post card we'll be mailing soon on the photo page, but since it's a little outside the bounds of the topic I'll only leave it up for a day or so. I post it only so those of you considering buying booths or tables can see the efforts that we're going to in order to make the world's largest rod building event, even larger for 2006. ........... The new issue of RodMaker is in the mail now. Most of you will get it towards the end of October. Included are these articles: Making the RF Lite Reel Seat Turing Polyester Resin Castings by machine lathe by wood lathe Thread, Feathers and Wood Pricing Custom Rods part III The Half-Round Ball Cap Butt Making Your Own Vacuum Cork Cutting Jig Full Color Photo Gallery Q&A Column New Products Rod Building News And some other stuff I'm probably forgetting. .................... The Volume 8 #6 issue, due out in December, is nearing completion. It will be a very interesting issue for a number of reasons. Lots of exciting things are in the works. .................. The Common Cents Website is just about ready to go. I had hoped to have it live by Tuesday but there were a couple of minor things I wanted to take care of first. It should be ready over the weekend. ................ Re: Various Updates

No, in fact there is only one large scale rod building show in the world and the National Show in Charlotte is it. It would be more than worth your while to travel in for this one.
Occasionally you'll see some smaller club type seminars taking place but they're not close to being done on the scope or scale of the National event. .................... Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
