O.K. I'm pretty new to this. Is there a way to research which blank was used for a specific rod?
The reason I ask, a friend would like to replace his 12 year old Fenwick rod with another. Steve Crook Re: Beginner's Question.

The numbers are usually identical from rod to blank. For instance, a Loomis 7' 2 piece popping rod for 4 power is P704-2R. The blank is P704-2B.
Your problem will be that Fenwick stopped making blanks way back when. What you have now are oriental made rods with the Fenwick name on them. The blanks they use are not available and what you friend had 12 years ago is long gone. ........... Re: Beginner's Question.

Steve,
Check with the sponcors on the left and maybe they can find a similar replacement for you or recommend the best places to look. Some of the older blanks can still be had if you look hard! You are not the first builder to have this type of problem. Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Re: Beginner's Question.

Check out the Tiger Eye blanks. I always found them to be very similar to the fenwick blanks. Re: Beginner's Question.

Thanks Bill,
I'll give Merrick Tackle a call tomorrow. Looking at their website they seem to carry the same diameter blank as my friends rod. Hope so.. Steve Crook Re: Beginner's Question.
