I and my friends wadefish the Gulf Coast surf from Mexico to Louisiana. I have built my own rods (and theirs) for many years and have made the rods from the Fenwick 1021 fiberglass blank, a one piece 8' 6" medium to light action piece of glass. I have exhausted my supply and now I understand Fenwick no longer produces this blank. That rod is perfect for casting 3/4 ounce spoons and 5/8 ounce mirrolures tied to 14# test line into the prevailing winds. I am looking for a comparable piece of glass in length, butt diameter and action. Can anyone recommend an alternative? I have used IM 6 graphite blanks and for the type of fishing we do, I prefer the glass. Sensitivity is not an issue when a big redfish or trout smash the lure. I have also used the Fenwick 903 blank, but I prefer the extra length when I'm fighting surf-running fish. If anyone can help with a recommendation, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you...... drdan@yahoo.com Re: Fiberglass blanks

Seeker used to make some nice 8' foot trout type spinning blanks. Try www.seeker.com and see if you can locate one on their site. I have used a few of them over the years but mostly in the 7 to 7&1/2 foot range. They made pretty good rods! Re: Fiberglass blanks

Hi Dan: I agree with Mike, I think you'll find Seeker a very good product, and they have a great selection to choose from. Best regards, Pat Doyle Re: Fiberglass blanks
