I'm refinishing my first flyrod that I've owned for over twenty years.(9ft.2pc.5wt. St.Croix) I have nicks in the finish, as well as other battle scars in the finish. I was wondering what I could use to either hide, or fill in these pesky nicks?
BTW. This is my first post on this site. My father has turned me onto rod building, and this is the first step in hopefully a long journey.... Steve Crook Eugene,Oregon Re: Little nicks.... Help.

The best thing would be a complete refinish, but that's somewhat involved. (Check the online library for help with blank refinishing as well as doing a search of the board archives.)
Or, you can tint some Permgloss to the current color of the blank and try to touch in those little spots and chips. Not as nice looking, but a lot less work. ............... Re: Little nicks.... Help.
