If I underwrap before I put on a diamond wrap should I put a coat of finish on the underwrap first like I do on my guidewraps?
Thanks! Scott Re: underwrap diamond butt

Usually CP (not finish). Opinions and reasons vary. -CMH+++ (getting sleepy) Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 09/26/2005 10:52PM by Cliff Hall. Re: underwrap diamond butt

I put CP on my underwraps but not finish. Also You dont have to and some dont even put an underwrap under their Cross Wraps(Diamonds). Sometimes you can close gaps easier that way and if you do a close out there is nothin of it left to see. All personal preference. You can do it anyway you want basically. Re: under wrap diamond butt

Scott,
If you do not apply a finish coat to the under wrap it will be a !#**#!& to pack the diamond wrap threads! Also, be careful not to use to much tension when doing the diamonds. Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Re: under wrap diamond butt

If you want it to be easy to wrap over, CP it if you want the color to hold, then a good coat of permagloss for a nice hard finish for easy wrapping.
Takes longer but saves on aggrivation Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
