Get a paint stripping gun from Lowes, 2 heat temps, be careful and go slow. Works for me Re: bamboo

If you have a tea kettle, use the steam to straighten the sections... I don't care what they look like now, you can make them as straight as arrows if you use steam..and "opposite pressure" Any questions email me personally and I will try to explain the way I do it in more detail.

I use an alcohol lamp. This works great for me.
