I am wanting to build a couple ultra light-light 5' or 6' fiberglass rods. I find the price of these blanks very inexpensive. Would this be because their is only one way to make this blank. I have ckecked all sponsors not sure if maybe their is another name for this type of blank.Thank you Re: Tubular fiberglass blanks

Are you talking about fiberglass fly rod blanks? If so you could contact Lamiglas (left). Josh Markvan www.markvanheirloom.com Re: Tubular fiberglass blanks

The price is low because most are E Glass blanks made offshore. The S Glass (lighter, more sensitive, higher modulus glass) blanks are more often made in the US and are closer to the price of a graphite blank. I personally prefer glass under conditions where a slower reaction time is necessary in casting or presentation. Re: Tubular fiberglass blanks

Morris, check MudHole's website. They are closing out some American Tackle 2-piece glass fly rods, 5-6 weight, that might make a great crappie rod. Real limber, and they're $9.95! I just ordered some just to do rod repair with. I'll be cutting them up for sleeves as needed. When I placed my order last week, they had over fifty in stock. Re: Tubular fiberglass blanks

Mudhole also carries Seeker freshwater glass blanks in the length and actions you are looking for. Good quality and prices too, although pricier than yhose mentioned above. Made in the USA too,in case that makes a difference.

You might also check out Jann's NetCraft , another one of our sponsers on the left. I have built several crappie rods for kids using their fiberglass spinning rod blanks, very good blank for about 6-7 dollars. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
