Newbie question about rod blank applications

Is it possible to use fly rod blanks for spinning applications also?
If so, is there a chart or formula that translates the "recommended" line weight of a fly blank into typical mono test weight? Besides the obvious loss of warranty, is there anything else to take into consideration before trying to use a fly blank for a rod other than it's intended use? I found the info. Had to reword my searches a few times but finally came across the line weight to lure weight comparison. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
