Weave Patterns

I just received a fantastic birthday gift from my wife. Who would have thought she would encourage me to build more rods. Anyway, I received a Wonder Weaver and am ready to try some color changing weaves for the first time. Can anyone recommend a good source for patterns? I would like to start out with a few trout patterns.

Thanks,

Marc

At this point, you might want to start developing your own. Jim Upton did a great article on how to design your own patterns in a past issue of RodMaker. The advantage to making your own is that you can exactly what you want and chances are that what you weave won't be just a repeat of what others have already done.

Or, if you just want to jump right in, Mud Hole sells patterns and the book Custom Rod Thread Art by Dale Clemens has quite a few patterns inside. Don't know if there's any trout, but it's a place to start.

Visual Wrap is strictly for cross wraps and will be no help with weaves. Dave Boyle (creator of Visualwrap is currantly working on Visual Weave. I had a sneak peak at a partial version in Charlotte and it's awesome. Hopefully, it will be done soon.

In the meantime, find some of Doc Ski's patterns with a supplier to the left; contact him via email and he'll help you find them!! He's a great weaving resource and will really help you out!!
