What is the best way to make bushings to secure a slick butt to the blank without adding too much weight?
The blank diameter is 0.5" and its a 15 to 25 lb class blank which I'm making into a light weight trolling rod with Aftco lightweight roller guides. Re: Slick Butt Installation

I would use Flex coat foam arbors cut to the size you like Re: Slick Butt Installation

Some of the slick butts have matching I.D. EVA arbors. They come in the full legth of the butt. I think it was the "Pac Bay" slick butts. Theres always masking tape or fiberglass tape. Re: Slick Butt Installation

This might be a little over kill but I use three 2" wide arbors made from drywall mesh tape. That was on an 8" slick butt. On a 12" butt I would probably use four arbors. Like I said it may be a little over kill but I wanna make sure it's there and stays there. This is also using rod bond. I've heard that Kardol works really well also.
