Can anyone with experience describe the quality/durability/weight of pacbay CMSG guides vs forecast LTCMCG guides?
Basically at half the price I want to know if the forecast guides are comprable to the pacbay ones... or do the pacbay ones blow the competition out of the water? CMSG are pacbay's silicon carbide rings TiCH frames. LTCMCG are forecast's TiCH coated zirconium rings with stainless steel frames. Thanks in advance Dave Re: Match guide differences

I use the Forecast TiCh and TiN zirconium ring guides with the TiCh frames on rods all the time and like them. I even have them on most of my own rods. From the studies I have seen the zirconium ring rates between Fuji SiC and Alconite in hardness. The zirconium rings hold up great to use with braided lines and the TiCh coated frames work well in saltwater. The only problem I have had is the gold finish coming off the largest ring on the first rod I ever built with these guides. It was actually coming off before I ever put the guide on the rod though. It doesn't effect funstion or I would replace it, just simply a cosmetic problem. Every other guide looks good as new.

Put them side by side I can't see a difference between them, the Forecast and Sevier guides I've used have all held up well. The Sevier guides make a close match for the gold Fujis you can't get anymore. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
