Steve, Mike, Ed, et al, it's is much more simple than you believe. The rod blank is NOT level in the dryer.
You have to or might do all that is mentioned above BUT if the blank is not LEVEL in the chuck's the liquid epoxy will twist with the torque of the spinning action in the dryer. You see, while the epoxy is in that "in-between" stage of liquid and solid if the rod is not level the fluid wants to flow to the down side but cant' fully flow, so it twists "waves". So you can use ANY good quality rod epoxy, no one epoxy has the market on "non-wavy" finish, as long as the above is accomplished it'll be fine. To accomplish level, I use a pocket level or line level to mesure it, then place something like 3X5 cards to raise the low end to level..... tight lines and good wraps, Good Wrappin ! David A.
