I want to replace an old boat rod used for many years in the DE bay for flounder, weaks and stripers. I'm looking for blank suggestions since I want something very short. Anyone have any suggestions for a 5' to 5'6" blank with a fast action? Something to chop up would be fine too.....
Thanks Re: Blank Suggestions

That's a WIDE range. What # test do you plan on fishing - there's not nearly enough info there to help you out. how do you fish for each species...and what' s the reasoning behind using a short rod like that? Re: Blank Suggestions

I use short poles like that because that's what my dad always used. They work great from a boat. I usually add TLD 5's spooled with 17lb test. The poles are primarily used for flounder, weakfish and stripers in the bay. But then I like to push the limits and take them out in the ocean for some inshore trolling. I've used the same pole for monster blues and small dolphin. Even had a tuna hooked once.......
Anyway, I guess I would describe it as some sort of light stand up rod. It's got the sensitivity to hook a flounder @#$%& on your minnow and spine to hang offshore. Any suggestions? Thanks Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
