I want to do a Black under wrap and then approximately in the middle of it do a thin top wrap of Goldenrod. The blank is black. The black wrap I want to do with no color preserver so that it will have that translucent, shiny look. I have found the Goldenrod definitely needs a couple of coats of CP for it to retain its bright look. What is the best way to accomplish this? I thought about covering the black with cellophane and than putting two coats of cp on the Goldenrod.....then after it dried I would remove the cellophane and coat the whole wrap with my finish!?! Other thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Steve Re: Mixed wrap

I think you're going about it all wrong. IMO the black will be black with or without CP. It won't be translucent. It will be black period. If you really want the goldenrod to stand out, you need to make your wrap like this ~ wrap one half underwrap black. Then wrap NCP goldenrod next and directly on the blank. Then finish with the other half in black. Don't put the goldenrod on top of the black. Put it in the middle and right on the blank. Re: Mixed wrap

Why not just use NCP goldenrod and skip the cp intirely? Re: Mixed wrap

Guidbrod HT Metalic gold would work great ! no CP needed.
Also, black metalic needs no CP and is very shiny! Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Re: Mixed wrap

If you want Goldenrod, I would do like Henry and Eric but paint the portion of the blank under the golderod white.
