I am going to be building a 9ft spinnign rod and I am wondering what size guides and type would be recommended? This is my first spinning rod to build so any help would be great.
I will be fishing for trout, salmon, bass. the blank is a forecast 6wt flly rod blank, line will most likely be 6lbs. test. the reel I am still undecided on. it will be used mostly for river fishing. the guides I don't know what I will be using yet any help in the area will be greatly appreciated. Tyler,
Go to the library and read the article on the new concept guide primer. The rest can't be answered without much more information. What guides are you using, what blank, what reel, what line, what fish, where? Re: Spinning rod guides

Tyler,
The size fo the spool of your reel will determin the approximate size of the largest ( butt) spinning guide. Spencer is correct in stearing you to library. Lots of good info there! I like the single foot spinning guides. (lighter and quicker to wrap!) Also they are less restricktive on the blank. Good Luck!
