What is the typical inside diameter of a thread spool? I need to know so I can mount some rod on my home made thread rapper/dryer.

You don't have any spools laying around? It's probably 1/4"

I thought I would get this response or none at all.

No I do not. I am building a thread wrapper/dryer to build MY FIRST ROD and have not purchased any other materials yet.

Oh. Buy a spool of thread from somewhere - most thread spools have the same ID on them. If i was home, I'd just measure for you, but I'm 95% sure it's 1/4".

Do reaserach in the Archives here, there should be a lot of info on how to build your wrapper. When I built mine I used 1/4" threaded rod and that was perfect. No need to re-invent the wheel here.
