Can anyone tell me where I can find a 7" long tapered (or shaped) Hypalon fore grip? If I can't find the right Hypalon grip, do you think it would look odd if I had a EVA fore grip and a Hypalon rear grip? Any help is appreciated. Re: Hypalon

Hi Morgan
If you have a shop or supplier who buys from CalStar/Tackle Specialties, they make 7" oval or straight in 1/2" and 11/16 id. If you want taper you can bring it down yourself if you have a rod lathe or reg. lathe. I forget what colors Leon makes it in. Re: Hypalon

If you find a straight piece and want to taper it. I used a piece of 3/8 round stock chucked in my cordless drill with (3) tape arbors using drywall sanding screen 80 and then 120 grit Re: Hypalon

In answer to your second question. There's no problem with hypalon rear and eva fore grips. Have built several that very same way. The eva fore grip is a bit lighter and the hypalon is a bit more durable. It holds up better against the wear and tear of rod holders. Regards......Doug@ TCRds Re: Hypalon

No problem mixing and matching grips - on all my Heavier Inshore rods, I use an EVA butt grip which I can do Inlays in, and keep teh weight down (Hypalon is 3-4x's heavier than EVA), and Hypalon in the foregrip because I like how Hypalon feels in my hand when I'm fishing - especially when it's 25 degrees out and Ice forms on teh grips. I personally find the Hypalon better in this situation, I'm sure others have their own preferences. Re: Hypalon
