Posting oddity

I had a strange thing happen on my recent post concerning attaching a fighting butt. When I later looked to see if I had any replys I didn't see the post on page 1. So I went to page 2 and still didn't see it. Then I backspaced back to page 1 and there was the post. This has happen 3 or 4 times. Anybody else have this problem?

The post did get seen and answered and I thank Brion and Tom for there advice but was curious as to why the post didn't show up on the first page.

Dave,
I am far from any computer guru but I think I know what's up here. This may have to do with your computer settings and refreshing the page. When you back up the page it could be refreshed so your browser will look for the newest version of the page you are looking for, this would include your posting on the page. To confirm this you will need to post again and instead of looking through pages hit the refresh button on your browser. It might work and then again I could be off in left field somewhere. Good Luck!

Tight wraps and lines,
Wylie

Right, you were looking at an earlier page that your computer had "cached." You can reduce the size of your browser cache to help stem this (although your browser may then have to reload each page each time you view it which will slow down things a bit) or you can empty the browser and reload the page when you need to find something new.

Another oddity I've seen lately is in the way the postings show up when I log into the site. I view all the postings in the flat view, and normally expect to see them in chronoligical order. But lately, I've seen the topics show up somewhat out of date order, with more recent posts sometimes after older posts. Is one of my settings messed up somewhere?

Thanks,
Mark

The posts go up as they come in - so newer posts will be below older posts, unless we're talking about new topics, in which case they appear at the top of the board.

Okay, I think I get what you're saying. A reply to a topic doesn't bump the topic up to the top then, just a new topic goes to the top, correct?

Well, I discovered my problem and it was me (as usual). I recently had some computer problems and had to reload some of my bookmarks. When I re-saved this site I was apparently looking at page 2 of the posts. Then whenever I went to rodbuilding.org I automatically went to page 2 rather than page 1.
