Checkerboard cork assembly

Just starting to slice up some cork rings in Custom's checkerboard jig, and wondered how to keep my sanity glueing/holding all the pieces together. Rod Bond and a plastic cable tie? Many thanks for suggestions!

I use rod bond and rubber bands but I space the segments using a 1/4" metal dowel in the center to help maintain true spacing.

The advantage to CC is it can be glued up in a short amount of time. You have to apply it to both pieces, wait until it dries, then press together. Once together, that's it, it ain't moving. Do not apply too much CC, you just want to make sure both surfaces are wet.

No need for a cable tie, make sure everythign is straight when you glue them up. With small pieces, it's kind of hard to do, but after you glue one or 2 together you'll have the hang of it.

I use Titebond and cable ties. I like Billy's idea though

I've only done one of these and I just used 5 minute epoxy and held it together with my fingers until it was dry. It sanded down fine when I was done; happy with the results.
